Cosmetic Gynecology: Perineoplasty

The perineum is the area that is between the floor of the vagina and the rectum. In many women this area has been traumatized through natural vaginal deliveries and/or episiotomies.

Oftentimes the healing process and repair of these tears leads to uneven and deformed scarring of the perineum.

Our perineoplasty procedure helps to repair and restore the normal appearance of the perineum and is usually performed during a vaginoplasty. However, it may also be performed by itself.

The perineoplasty procedure performed separate from the vaginoplasty takes approximately 30 - 45 minutes and can be done in the office in a pain-free environment.
